As an Infrastructure Support Engineer, you will play a crucial role in customer infrastructure transition and transformation projects, ensuring top-notch service delivery for the client's customers. You will work on incremental sales within existing accounts, collaborating with the transformation team, including the Project Manager and Project TA. Weekend work may be required due to tight timelines and short notice for project tasks. You will also conduct peer reviews and develop Low-Level Designs as needed, showcasing essential skills during the assignment.
Roles/Responsibilities:
- Wintel Server implementation and deployment (2016/2019/2022) on physical hardware and virtual infrastructure.
- Participate in implementation and migration activities, providing direction and support to other project team members, including less experienced SMEs, when required.
- Ensure smooth handover of implemented systems into ongoing support, participating in relevant processes.
- Raise concerns when project delivery fails or a fundamental problem needs addressing.
Key Tasks:
- Deliver servers and services detailed in the project plan.
- Attend relevant project meetings and technical workshops where required when there are tangible Wintel Build outputs.
- Produce appropriate Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation that is consistent with the solution and meets the client's business requirements.
- Liaise with 3rd Party suppliers and other partners when and where required to meet client requirements.
Technical Skills:
- Previous Wintel project experience including infrastructure implementation, deployment, and migration.
- Excellent understanding of Windows infrastructures (including 2016, 2019, 2022).
- Experience of deploying virtualised infrastructure (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Experience in SCCM, SCOM, PKI, MIM, Powershell, and Automation technologies.
- Good knowledge of networks and storage (NetApp).
