Production and Materials Planning - Manufacturing

Up to £50,000 DOE Gloucester

The role:

  • Lead and manage the Planning team to ensure efficient day-to-day operations
  • Oversee production scheduling, capacity planning, S&OP, material scheduling and forecasting
  • Implement and improve planning process controls and systems
  • Monitor and optimise inventory levels for raw materials, WIP and finished goods
  • Drive OTIF (On-Time In Full) performance and resolve delivery concerns using 8D/PPS tools
  • Support the introduction of new products and processes from a planning perspective
  • Develop and report on planning KPIs, budgets and improvement plans
  • Support internal and external audit requirements and supplier performance reviews

The person:

  • Experienced Planning Manager with a strong track record in complex manufacturing environments
  • Skilled in ERP systems (preferably IFS / SAP or similar) and planning methodologies including finite scheduling, S&OP and capacity planning
  • Strong leadership and team development skills, with the ability to mentor and guide effectively
  • Comfortable reading and interpreting engineering drawings (including GD&T)
  • Open to change and improvement, ideally with exposure to lean methodologies
