Your Activities:

  • Lapping and Polishing Sapphire piece-parts to fine tolerances and finishes.
  • Carrying out detailed metrology and regular maintenance and calibration working in a clean-room environment.
  • Acid cleaning and thermo-compression bonding along with potting and basic mechanical assembly to create optical sensor components.
  • Involvement in both R&D and production biased work packages in a small organisation.
  • Responsible for basic operation, cleaning and ongoing maintenance of laboratory tools and equipment.
  • Taking metrology measurements and verifying product conformance using microscopes and other measuring and inspection instrumentation.
  • Performing cleaning with the use of different chemicals including solvents and acids.

Your Profile:

  • Production / Manufacturing Technician / Laboratory Technician (open to junior technicians or graduates).
  • Hands on experience - able to use hand tools and good manual dexterity.
  • Exposure to a cleanroom environment, e.g laboratory or similar.
  • Manual dexterity, good hand-eye coordination and able to work with small hand tools and components such as optics, microscopes, tweezers and verniers.
  • Experience of carrying out detailed metrology, basic machine maintenance and calibration.
  • Able to interpret mechanical drawings and follow defined processes.
  • Basic IT skills using Word and Excel. Knowledge of any production control software would be beneficial but not essential.
