About the Role
The Finance Manager plays a key role within the Senior Leadership Team. They will ensure robust financial processes, compliance with regulations, and long-term financial sustainability. You will lead on financial planning, reporting, and audit, while providing strategic insight and operational support across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the finance office's daily operations, including budget planning, monthly management accounts, and cashflow forecasting.
- Liaise regularly with the Finance Director to ensure sound financial strategy and oversight.
- Oversee VAT returns, statutory reporting, and investment activity.
- Develop and monitor internal controls, ensuring appropriate procedures for cash handling, payroll, and reconciliation.
- Manage departmental work planning, staff development, and performance reviews.
- Act as a key liaison for auditors, the Board of Trustees, and the Resources and Audit Committee.
Essential:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent).
- Experience in financial reporting and strategic planning within a complex organisation.
- Demonstrable success in managing budgets, audits, and financial controls.
- Confident in presenting financial reports to senior stakeholders, including Trustees.
- Competent with Sage 50 and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
