A global manufacturer of precision components supplying sectors including aerospace, automotive and defence has a new vacancy for a Shift Manager. You will be responsible for overseeing the daily operation activities within your designated area ensuring targets are achieved and continuously striving to improve efficiency.
The Role:
- Plan and organise production schedules to meet production goals and deadlines.
- Actively participate in and promote continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to quality procedures and compliance within the team.
- Monitor the production processes and adjust schedules as needed.
- Lead daily department shift meetings, ensuring team understand their responsibilities.
- Identify areas for process improvements and implement solutions for increased efficiency.
- Oversee maintenance of equipment, ensuring optimal production capacity and minimising downtime.
- Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with all Health & Safety legislation.
- Ensure measures are taken to achieve cost reduction opportunities and reduce waste.
- Overseeing quality compliance, scrap, and rework.
- Manage labour resources effectively by ensuring cover for holidays and sickness.
The Person:
- Proven experience in a supervisory or management level position in a fast-paced environment.
- Good understanding of Lean Manufacturing & Methodology.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to engage and motivate a team.
- Knowledge of quality control and safety standards.
- Commitment to achieving set goals, targets, and objectives.
- High level of professionalism and integrity.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
