Caretakers required! We are looking for a temporary caretaker. You must have a driving license and be over 23 years of age (for insurance), have experience in customer care and be happy to work in a team. Full training will be provided if needed. £12.88 per hour.
The job includes the following tasks, and more!
- Cleaning common areas (including carpets) within buildings including fixtures and fittings, internal glass, lifts, notice boards etc.
- Remove graffiti where possible and if necessary use spot painting in accordance with procedures and Health & Safety requirements.
- Remove and ensure the safe disposal of dangerous objects (e.g. discarded needles and drug paraphernalia etc).
- Reporting repairs through inspection sheets or call through on reporting system.
- Checking the appearance/operation of bin chutes, dry risers, dampers in high rise blocks, fire prevention equipment, laundry rooms and equipment (including collection of tokens), electrical equipment, fire alarms, door entry equipment etc.
- Undertaking/arranging remedial action as required, including rotation of bins.
- Cleaning and disinfecting bin stores and equipment, reporting damage etc.
- Checking and clearing drains, gutters etc. to ensure adequate escape of water, especially after snow or heavy rain.
- Deliver urgent correspondence and distribute Housing literature as required.
