Joining our Sections Mill team as a Mechanical Engineer, you'll be working on some of the largest pieces of kit and machinery you'll find in the industry. Some of your accountabilities will include:
- Plan, prioritize, schedule, and manage mechanical activities (i.e. planned maintenance programs, shutdowns or emergency repairs) to minimize breakdowns and malfunctions.
- Develop your team of Mechanical Technicians both technically and professionally.
- Ensure that risk assessments, method statements and permits are created, implemented and being followed.
- Estimate the cost, time, and resources required for repair and improvement projects.
- Work directly with engineers in other disciplines and shift managers to ensure effective running of the process.
- Lead and manage projects as well as a team of Mechanical Technicians.
- Engage in analysis, design and planning while also being hands-on on the production floor.
You will be an experienced Mechanical Engineer, who is passionate about continuous learning and is always looking to widen their skillset. You will have developed practical expertise in process control and condition monitoring, which will be backed up by strong academic knowledge.
You will need:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering desirable (minimum HNC).
- Experience of developing process safety.
- Strong experience of Preventative Maintenance & Reliability Engineering processes.
- Significant experience in overhead cranes maintenance is desirable.
- Hands-on engineer who will do what it takes to keep the plant running.
- Experience of leading and developing successful teams.
