We are seeking a skilled Aerodynamicist to join an F1 team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing innovative aerodynamic concepts and designs for the race cars, ensuring continuous improvement in its performance. You will oversee the development cycle of aerodynamic components, including concept creation, testing, analysis and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate new aerodynamic geometries using CAD and manage both wind tunnel (WT) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) testing processes.
- Analyse results from WT and CFD tests, recommending performant geometries for track testing.
- Define, specify, and manage efficient WT tests, including hands-on WT testing.
- Collaborate with other teams including model design, aero technology, and wind tunnel systems.
- Proactively suggest and implement new methods to enhance efficiency in design, testing, and analysis.
Required Skills and Experience:
- At least 1 year of experience in F1 aerodynamics development.
- An understanding of aerodynamics to a degree level or higher.
- Some exposure to technical understanding of CFD and WT testing techniques.
- Proficiency in CAD.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a team-player attitude.
