As a Project Controls Engineer, you will lead the preparation of project cost estimates, EACs/ETCs, and the development and maintenance of project/programme schedules. Your responsibilities include progress management, scenario planning, risk management, and project trend and change control production. You will provide variance analysis data and commentary for dashboards/reports and liaise with internal and external stakeholders on cost, schedule, and risk issues. You will implement and manage project controls tools and systems to produce data, run management and analytical processes, and influence decision-making around time and cost outcomes.
Business Line Strategy: Lead the production of the business line project pipeline with the programme manager.
Scenario Planning: Conduct planning and methods studies to optimize future outcomes.
Integrated Team Work: Analyze and document scope, ensuring assumptions/exclusions inform project controls information.
Schedule Management: Produce and manage schedules using Primavera P6 and MS Project, ensuring accurate reflection of work scope.
Cost Management: Produce and manage cost estimates, cost engineering/control, and value engineering.
Risk Management: Lead risk management, maintain risk register, perform risk analysis, and implement mitigating actions. Manage project change control applications from trend notice to implementation. Implement earned value management, report on variance analysis, and provide accurate data analysis.
Stakeholder Workshops: Lead workshops to develop robust schedules/costs for successful project delivery.
Cost Management: Deploy and manage cost management approaches, prepare cost estimates, monitor outturn costs, support cost justification, manage WBS/CBS, and produce EVM data.
Planning/Scheduling: Deploy and manage schedule management approaches, prepare and maintain schedules, develop scheduling using Primavera/MS Project, manage project baseline, and run progress meetings.
Risk Management: Develop risk assessment and management strategy, perform periodic risk analysis, and implement risk analysis through schedule. Provide data for PSR Report, lead variance analysis discussions, and deputize for PM in stakeholder meetings.
Stakeholder Management: Liaise with all stakeholders on schedule, cost, risk, and change control throughout the project lifecycle.
Helpfulness: Work together to help each other and customers.
Experience: Project controls or delivery environment experience, project-specific practical experience.
Qualifications: Professional project controls or delivery-related qualification (or working towards).
Skills: Cost management and estimating tools, proficient P6 and MSP knowledge, good communication, proactive time management, EVM implementation, budget development, data analysis.
