Avondale Foods is a leading food processing company of Fresh and Chilled products supplying leading retail businesses including Marks & Spencer, Ocado, Waitrose, Dunnes and Morrisons. The purpose of this role is to organise the storage and distribution of goods ensuring that the right products are delivered to the right location on time and at a good cost.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead by example and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures in relation to Product Quality, Food Safety and Integrity.
- Manage stock levels, order assembly to customer requirements, and outload to achieve on time and in full delivery (OTIF) targets.
- Allocate and manage staff and labour control according to changing needs.
- Liaise and negotiate with internal and external customers and suppliers.
- Continually improve and develop department performance against KPI targets.
- Drive Health and Safety, Waste Control, and Lean Management.
- Manage staff: coaching and training, absence, performance reviews.
- Oversee day-to-day operations such as picking products, recording despatch times, temperature, dates, quality of products, transport vehicles loading requirements and procedures, accuracy of documentation, labels, and dockets, staff rota, and recording waste.
- Liaise with haulers to manage outload times to reduce congestion and achieve OTIF targets.
