Flourishing Families are looking for experienced individuals for the role of Team Leader to join our Residential Family Assessment Unit based in Reading, Berkshire. We are looking for enthusiastic and committed people who are reliable and able to offer emotional and practical support to our residents as well as support in the smooth running and operation of the service, with first level responsibility for the Family Support Workers.

Flourishing Families Parental Assessment Centre is located in a quiet residential estate in Reading, Berkshire. You will work under our Ofsted Registered Manager and our assessing Social Workers in the service. The ethos of our Family residential home is to provide a homely and family-like environment to our service users.

Job Duties and Expectations include:

  • Support the Manager in day-to-day management and operations of the unit.
  • Mentor and support colleagues by undertaking regular supervisory duties.
  • To ensure that all parent and child information is provided to the assessing Social Worker.
  • Quality assure reports to maintain good quality standards.
  • Ensure daily tasks by staff are complete.
  • The Team Leader is expected to become familiar with and adhere to Flourishing Families Policies and Procedures.
  • Be aware and adhere to legislation relating to safeguarding and confidentiality.
  • Ability to keep clear and accurate records.
  • Good communicator and have flexible interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to use own initiative and be solution focused.
  • Have a strength-based approach when working with parents and children.
  • Commitment to good practice.
  • Commitment to equal opportunity and challenging any discriminatory and oppressive practices.
  • To maintain and promote family residential support work to high levels of professionalism expected by Flourishing Families Parental Assessment Centre and Ofsted.
  • Follow safeguarding procedure and alert to appropriate members of the team.
  • To promote a nurturing and supportive environment for families.
  • Ability to undertake in house and external training.

Schedule:

  • 12-hour shifts
  • Day shift
  • Waking Night shift
  • Weekend availability

This role is not a 9-5 and will require the applicant to be flexible.

Education:

Preferable one of the below qualifications:

  • NVQ (Children) Level 3 and above

Preferable Experience within:

  • Social Care Team
  • Residential Family Support in a Parent and Child Assessment Unit.
  • Community Family Support Work
  • Experience of working as a family support worker in a Local Authority
