We’re on the lookout for a proactive and experienced Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our team in Newcastle on a 6-month fixed-term contract. You’ll play a vital role in keeping our equipment and facilities running smoothly while contributing to key projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
Main Purpose of the Role:
You’ll be responsible for the maintenance and repair of equipment, services, and the fabric of the building, ensuring everything is running safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out reactive, planned, preventative, and predictive maintenance on site equipment.
- Communicate and record maintenance activities using written, electronic, or verbal methods.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant HSE procedures.
- Assist other departments with fault finding and repairs across mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Support commissioning and installation of new machinery and systems.
- Lead and contribute to continuous improvement activities.
- Evaluate and review maintenance practices, recommending corrective actions where necessary.
What We're Looking For:
- Time-served Maintenance Technician with proven mechanical experience.
- Experience in mechanical engineering/maintenance within an engineering environment (minimum 5 years).
