Abacus is on the market to appoint an ERP Systems Manager (or Business System Mgr) for an established and highly reputable export company. The purpose is to work with the leadership team to drive major improvements in decision-making, operational efficiency, and margin protection. The company is highly invested in technology and ERP platform, and eager to identify the right person with a blend of technology, commercial awareness and process management.
Description of the Role:
- You will lead the ERP infrastructure, support the team and stakeholders to utilise the key practical and commercial benefits of the investment.
- Help discover reports, workflow automation, stock control & inventory optimisation, CRM, customer insights, pricing & margins etc.
- The goal is to find data-driven improvements e.g. drive performance insight and gains, automate manual or Excel-based processes, create standard and ad-hoc reports that support inventory, sales, gross margin, customer performance, and forecasting.
- Design, build, and maintain real-time dashboards and reporting tools within ERP and any BI platforms used (e.g., Power BI, Qlik, Excel Power Query, Crystal Reports).
- Collaborate with key stakeholders across operations, finance, sales and leadership to gather reporting needs and translate them into actionable outputs.
- Identify and implement automation opportunities within ERP workflows.
- Ensure data quality and integrity across pricing, stock, and customer datasets.
- Train staff in ERP functionality and reporting best practices.
Ideal for a professional with:
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems, such as SAP B1, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, Intact, Epicor, etc.
- Strong skills in reporting tools (e.g. Crystal Reports, Qlik, Microsoft Power BI, Excel Power Query, or other ERP native tools).
- Commercial awareness understanding of distribution and wholesale companies is ideal.
- Project management and communication skills.
