Our client, a large utilities business, is seeking a Project Manager for their Chatham office. This role requires some presence at the company's other offices where the projects span multiple locations.
This role would suit a candidate who has a strong electrical engineering understanding (preferred HNC or equivalent qualification), especially in the context of HV (High Voltage) networks (11kV to 132kV). The role requires a background in electrical distribution infrastructure installation (e.g., substations, cables, transformers) and an understanding of street works and utilities construction.
You will manage a portfolio of services projects, ensuring successful pre and post contract management of all projects on time, on budget and within safety standards. You will provide accurate forecasting and reporting and manage all allocated projects throughout their lifecycle from enquiry, through award, on to completion and handover following project processes on time and to budget.
Contract management following custom contracts (knowledge of NEC 3 or equivalent would be desirable). You will manage the financial control of projects, ensuring the delivery of planned works and profit margins. Ensure design and construction compliance observing CDM regulation and to quality standards. Manage NRSWA / street works contractors.
You will have an understanding of HV (11kV to 132KV) networks. Electrical Engineering (to HNC or similar) is the preferred requirement; however, applications from candidates with a lesser qualification and a record of accomplishment in the installation of electrical distribution infrastructures (construction) would be welcomed.
NEBOSH experience and familiarity with Primavera planning package are also required.
