My Client, a well-established firm, is looking for a Debt Recovery Manager to join their team.
Main Duties:
- Defended and complex caseload
- Dealing with complex disputes and defended caseload arising out of Leeds and Newcastle standard work and instructed separately
- Conducting advanced negotiations with opponents and their representatives
- Drafting non-standard court documents and correspondence
- Management and supervision of a team of paralegals and administrative staff
- Training and mentoring team as required
- Delegation and allocation of work
- Dealing with recruitment and personnel issues
- Consideration of well-being of team
- Set up of new clients including obtaining ID and liaising with compliance team
- Consideration of regulatory and compliance points
- Preparation of engagement documents
- Dealing with complaints
- Take an active role in achieving team targets
- Assists in achieving strategic goals
- Regular review and analysis of financial data
- Working to increase profitability of the team
- Developing and maintaining case management system
- Delivering training and presentations to clients and prospective clients
- Developing and maintaining relationships with existing clients
- Maintaining excellent standards of client delivery
- Involvement in marketing and business development events and preparation
- Supporting the unit to source and secure new clients
Skills Required:
- At least two years' experience of Debt Recovery work (essential)
- People Management experience gained from a legal or professional services environment (essential)
- Self-motivated
- Proactive
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
- Good attention to detail
- Understanding of regulatory and compliance framework that debt practitioners operate in
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; confident with both written and telephone communications/negotiations
- Client focused
- Strong understanding of client needs
- Commercial acumen
- Sound understanding of the debt market
