We’re looking for a Capacity Analyst who can support us in driving efficiency in the field and empower our stakeholders to make data-led decisions on workload, resource, and performance to meet Thames Water’s current and future challenges. The successful capacity analyst will support the delivery of capacity insight and data analysis within the UK’s largest Water and Wastewater Company. What you’ll be doing as a Capacity Analyst:

  • Providing a first-class service for capacity, resource planning and insight.
  • Reporting to your capacity planning manager, you will aim to enable efficient resourcing for teams within your remit, which will maintain customer service excellence and adherence to regulatory outcomes.
  • Working with a variety of field-based teams as well as internal stakeholders to generate value-adding management information and analysis, providing valuable insight into the performance of our field-based teams.
  • Creating and defining capacity plans, embedding these within the business and ensuring their validity.
  • Profiling and redistributing workload demand to minimise spikes and maximise the deliverability of work for our field teams.
  • Maintaining and building upon a suite of Power BI reports to ensure up-to-date capacity and performance data is always available to our stakeholders.
  • Working with large data sets, drawn from a wide variety of internal and external sources, and interrogating the information to define and deliver effective solutions.
  • Maintaining data quality and ensuring data is secure and properly utilised in line with data protection.

What you should bring to the role:

  • Ability to identify and analyse irregularities and trends in data.
  • Experience in creating data visualisations with the intended purpose of empowering data-led decision making.
  • Experience in engaging with stakeholders and influencing conversations.
  • Knowledge and experience in Power BI (or other BI software) and SQL are highly advantageous.
  • Strong presentation skills and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, with Excel to at least an intermediate level.
  • An understanding of SAP BO/ECC would be beneficial.
  • Previous experience in capacity planning within an operational environment or the utilities industry, especially UK water companies, would be beneficial.
  • A degree or equivalent within an analytical field is an advantage although not a requirement (e.g. Science, Maths, Geographical disciplines) or similar relevant experience working with data.
