Merrifield Consultants are delighted to be partnering with a prestigious Scientific Membership Organisation to recruit a Scientific Events Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a prestigious organisation that delivers high-profile scientific meetings, bringing together experts from around the world to advance knowledge and innovation.
As the Scientific Events Manager, you will oversee the planning and execution of a diverse programme of scientific events, including conferences, panel discussions, and networking sessions. This role involves working closely with senior stakeholders, organising hybrid and in-person meetings, and managing all aspects of event logistics. The role requires travel (1-2 times per month, including overnight stays of up to 4 nights) and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced, detail-driven environment.
- Lead the end-to-end planning and delivery of scientific events, ensuring seamless execution.
- Manage event budgets and oversee financial reconciliation.
- Maintain event records, manage invitations, and oversee registration processes.
- Prepare briefings, reports, and planning documents for committees and stakeholders.
- Ensure smooth delivery of hybrid and in-person events, including setting up venues and managing digital platforms.
- Conduct post-event evaluations to identify areas for improvement.
- Support additional scientific engagement activities, including international meetings and academic award ceremonies.
Experience in planning and delivering complex, high-profile events. Strong organisational and project management skills with meticulous attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems. Willingness to travel within the UK and work occasional evenings and weekends. Experience working in a scientific, academic, or membership organisation.
