Access Talent Group are currently recruiting for a Senior or Principal Flood Risk Consultant / Engineer to be based in the South West of England for a market leading international Consultants. You will lead a diverse range of projects for clients such as the Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales, and Local Authorities. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about technical excellence, client service, and team leadership.

As a key member of the Flood and Coasts team based in Bristol or Cardiff, you will be responsible for managing and delivering projects across the full project lifecycle. The role provides an excellent opportunity to apply your expertise while developing your career with support from an experienced and collaborative team. This individual will possess a blend of curiosity, technical knowledge, and personal drive. You will be motivated by solving complex problems, excited to support clients, and ready to lead teams delivering innovative flood risk management solutions.

Ideal candidates will have experience in the UK flood risk management sector and an understanding of the project cycle—from concept and business case development to detailed design and construction. You will have a strong technical background in civil engineering related to flood and coastal risk management and a passion for delivering high-value, sustainable solutions.

Experience and Responsibilities
  • Relevant Degree and Chartered Engineer Status – Ideally through ICE or a similar professional body.
  • Project Leadership and Management Experience – Proven ability to lead teams and manage projects, ensuring high-quality deliverables within agreed timelines and budgets.
  • Expertise in Flood Risk Solutions – Demonstrable experience in delivering high-quality flood and coastal risk management solutions in the UK.
  • Client Relationship Management – Strong ability to build and maintain lasting relationships with clients, collaborators, and project partners.
  • Creative Problem Solver – A solution-focused mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement and delivering sustainable project outcomes.
