A respected and growing accountancy firm is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to support the team in delivering exceptional client service across a varied portfolio of clients, including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting client bookkeeping, including bank reconciliations and invoice processing
  • Assisting with VAT returns and payroll processing, ensuring timely submissions to HMRC
  • Helping to prepare self-assessment tax returns and general accounts production
  • Managing day-to-day queries from clients with professionalism and accuracy
  • Completing a range of administrative duties, including filing and database updates
  • Identifying opportunities for referrals across the wider business network
  • Communicating regularly with senior team members on client work status
What We’re Looking For:
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in an accountancy practice environment
  • AAT Level 2 or 3 qualification (or working towards it) is desirable
  • Proficiency in Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar accounting software
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to learn
  • Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working under pressure
