Are you passionate about empowering young people and making a lasting difference in your community? We\’re looking for a Domestic Abuse Children & Young Person (DACYP) Support Worker to join a dynamic team delivering an innovative prevention and early intervention programme across Gwent.

This is more than a job – it\’s a chance to be part of something life-changing.

About the Role

You\’ll deliver interactive sessions to school-age children and young people (CYP), helping them understand domestic abuse, healthy relationships, and how to challenge harmful gender norms. Your work will span schools, PRUs, youth groups, and alternative education settings, reaching those most at risk.

From group workshops to one-on-one support, you\’ll play a key role in ensuring young people feel safe, supported, and empowered to build a future free from violence.

You\’ll:

  • Facilitate awareness-raising sessions and group work around domestic abuse and gender-based violence
  • Provide trauma-informed 1:1 support, including risk and safety planning
  • Collaborate with professionals to ensure joined-up support for CYP
  • Promote and co-develop youth-led initiatives, including the Youth VAWDASV Ambassador programme
  • Update and co-create engaging content to keep sessions fresh, relevant, and evidence-informed
  • Help shape a safer, more respectful community through early intervention

What You\’ll Bring

We\’re looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in working with children and young people affected by domestic abuse or harmful behaviours
  • A confident communicator with the ability to lead group sessions and manage challenging behaviours
  • Compassionate, non-judgemental, and trauma-informed in your approach
  • Organised, flexible, and capable of working independently and as part of a team
  • Committed to equal opportunities, safeguarding, and empowering young voices
  • Strong understanding of VAWDASV, adverse childhood experiences, and their impacts
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle IS ESSENTIAL!
  • Welsh speaker
  • Experience with group facilitation programmes (e.g., Freedom Programme, STAR)

Why Join Us?

The charity offers a supportive, mission-driven culture where your voice and skills matter. You\’ll be part of a passionate team who believe that education and early intervention are vital to preventing abuse and promoting lasting change.

You\’ll also benefit from:

  • Strong investment in personal development
  • Access to specialist training
  • Opportunities to contribute to co-produced, youth-led projects

Ready to inspire and support the next generation?

Apply today and help create a safer, more respectful future for children and young people across Gwent.
