Do you have experience supporting young people with housing issues and other complex social needs? Would you like to work for an incredible charity that puts the wellbeing of young people at the heart of everything they do? We are working on a Youth Support Office role, based in the Neath Port Talbot area. What will you get? A fulltime permanent position 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday Salary of £24,400 per year On-call payments for each day you are on call (£15 to £20 per day) On-call will be around 1 in 5 to start, but as the team grows this will change to 1 in 7. Overtime payments (time and a half) if you are called out for 2 hours or more. With these extra payments, you will average an extra £1,200 – taking the salary to approx. £25,600 per annum. 27 days holiday + 8 bank holidays. Rising to 30 days + 8 bank holidays after 5 years. Company pension scheme, employee assistance programme, health and wellbeing days.What will you do? You will support young people who are experiencing housing issues. Provide them with advice and guidance: employability, education, tenancy, social inclusion etc. Be an advocate for the people you support. Assist with the completion of benefit and housing related applications. Work with other services: substance misuse, youth offending, social services, local authorities etc. Remain professional when interacting with the young people, staff and outside agencies. Keep accurate and timely records. Complete needs assessments, support plans and risk assessments. Work outside of hours (on rare occasions) to ensure the young people are safe and secure. Report and record safeguarding issues, in line with charity procedures.What do we need? We need someone with experience supporting vulnerable people. A good knowledge of the UK benefits system. Someone who understands housing and tenancy support. Knowledge of ACEs and trauma informed practice. Ideally, you will have worked with those aged 16 to 25. A background in support work, housing, education or social care would be a distinct advantage. Someone who is flexible and adaptable. ESSENTIAL: You must be a driver with a vehicle. ESSENTIAL: A DBS on the update service or able to complete a new enhanced check.
