Evolve Personnel are currently recruiting for an Estimator & CAD Draughtsperson for our manufacturing client in the Stourbridge area. The following information provides an overview of the skills, qualities, and qualifications needed for this role.
Duties:
- Analyse customer requirements to prepare accurate estimate bids, ensuring timely submission of documents and budgets.
- Collaborate with engineers and designers to understand design requirements and provide technical advice to manufacturing technicians.
- Calculate costs and apply knowledge of materials and engineering principles to check the feasibility of manufacture and construction.
- Liaise with customers, external suppliers, subcontractors, and design teams, to ensure accuracy of information and quotations.
- Estimate fabrication times, working with the production team to ensure appropriate methodologies and efficiencies.
- Use SolidWorks/AutoCad CAD software to create 2D and 3D models, ensuring value engineering in product design.
- Participate in project meetings to ensure timely and budget-compliant project delivery, addressing any production issues.
Requirements:
- Relevant steel estimating experience, ideally in materials handling.
- Proficient in creating and understanding engineering drawings/work specifications with a good knowledge of CAD.
- Strong knowledge of SolidWorks/AutoCad.
- Commercial awareness with a good understanding of industry standards.
- Excellent computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
Hours: Monday – Thursday 8:30am - 17:00pm, Friday 8:30am - 16:30pm.
