We are currently seeking a dedicated and professional Warehouse Operative to join our fast-paced team in Hertfordshire / Hatfield. The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of tasks, including picking and packing, managing deliveries, stock checks, and maintaining a safe and organised working environment. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 year's experience in a similar role, with a strong focus on attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Picking and Packing: Ensure products are accurately picked, packed, and prepared for dispatch, maintaining high standards.
- Document Preparation: Competently prepare packing documents such as labels, certificates, and compliance paperwork.
- Receiving and Booking Deliveries: Book in deliveries, check all accompanying paperwork, and input data into our system.
- Loading and Unloading Deliveries: Safely load and unload deliveries and collections, ensuring all goods are handled carefully.
- Report and Schedule Assistance: Assist in compiling reports, schedules, and performing line checks as required.
- Teamwork: Work effectively as part of a team, maintaining a positive work ethic and contributing to a collaborative environment.
- Attention to Detail: Ensure tasks are completed with high accuracy and attention to detail, meeting quality standards.
- Safety and Housekeeping: Play an active role in maintaining a safe working environment, including proper housekeeping within both the warehouse and surrounding areas.
- Stock Checks: Carry out periodic stock checks in line with the company’s schedule.
- Customer Inquiries: Deal with both internal and external client inquiries, occasionally interacting directly with customers.
- Annual Stock Take: Participate in the annual stock take, which may occur outside of normal working hours.
- Covering for Absences: Provide cover during periods of annual leave and sickness as required.
Key Role Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience in a warehouse or similar environment.
- UK Driving Licence: A valid UK driving license is required.
- Forklift Driving Experience: Experience of counterbalance forklift driving is essential; a valid certificate would be advantageous.
- Professionalism: Presentable, professional, and trustworthy, with strong interpersonal skills.
- Physical Fitness: Must be able to lift and move products of up to 30kg.
- Self-Motivation: Self-motivated, disciplined, and able to work independently when required.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer Literacy: Must be computer literate and comfortable using warehouse management systems.
