About the Company:

Our client is a reputable Freight Forwarder specialising in Import, Export & Coastal Sea Freight cargoes, Warehousing & Distribution, and Customs Brokerage services.

About the Role:

Seeking an experienced General Manager focused on operational management to oversee warehousing functions and project initiatives across various locations in New Zealand. The role requires strategic thinking, a hands-on approach to problem-solving, and a high adaptability to manage change, with a strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards.

About You:

The ideal candidate will have solid General/Operational Management experience overseeing the entire supply chain, including transportation and distribution, with attributes such as:

• Financial Oversight: develop and manage budgets, forecasts, monitor KPIs
• Team Leadership & Development: lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing logistics team
• Customer & Stakeholder Management: maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and service providers
• Technology & Innovation: leverage technology to enhance logistics efficiency
• Risk & Compliance Management: ensure compliance with logistics regulations
• Strong understanding of freight forwarding, warehousing, and distribution operations
• A proactive attitude and leadership by example
• Forklift licence required; additional licences such as DG, MPI beneficial
