With a new ‘challenger’ brand strategy in the works and ambitious plans for growth, we’re looking for a sparky social media expert who can bring our brand (and the people behind it) to life through our social channels. You’ll be someone who lives and breathes social media and has an in-depth knowledge of all existing and emerging social platforms and formats. You will know how to make social-first content that is grounded in native social behaviour.
Here’s the experience, skills & competencies we’re looking for you to bring:
- Experience of scaling breakthrough brands by developing and implementing winning social strategies, campaigns and content.
- Demonstrable experience of cultivating and maintaining excellent relationships with creators, influencers, agencies and internal stakeholders.
- Experience of managing agency partners and working in an integrated team to deliver strong results.
- Strong creative judgement, no shortage of ideas and a laser-sharp eye for detail.
- A thorough understanding of the metrics that matter and the ability to draw insights from data and demonstrate return on investment.
- Experience of working both agency-side and in-house would be a plus.
- Organised, responsive, resourceful and able to juggle competing business priorities.
- Outward-looking, culturally and socially aware, totally plugged into the consumer media, social and influencer landscape.

Your team and the people you will work with… Reporting into the Earned Media Lead, this role will oversee all social activity for UW, from creative ideas and production through to community management and measurement. You will partner with PR colleagues on earned media campaigns, press office and partnerships, and collaborate with colleagues in Creative, Digital Marketing, Customer Services and beyond. You will manage a junior social media manager, ensuring effective day-to-day running of channels that sparkle with engaging and effective content and represent a range of perspectives across UW.
Success will be a measurable increase in reach and relevance across our priority channels, ultimately increasing our brand health and reputation. The right candidate will be energised by making a real impact, and have a strong track record of delivering great outcomes.
As Senior Social Media Manager at UW you will be responsible for:
- Developing a social media strategy that aligns our brand and growth plans.
- Taking direction from the new brand and earned media strategies, and working closely with the PR and creative team to shape UW’s organic social media strategy and content.
- Supporting the digital marketing teams on paid social media strategy and content.
- Balancing a deep understanding of our different audiences and their interests and needs while making sure we show up authentically and intentionally across our social platforms.
- Creating plans that support brand and commercial goals, and coordinating their delivery.
- Owning the look and feel of our social channels, ensuring socially-native content helps to build our brand.
- Ensure alignment with creative team on best practices and visual branding.
- Establish effective ways of working, measurement frameworks and reporting.
- Running a first-class content machine including ownership of the content calendar from planning to publishing.
- Managing an agile process to deliver reactive content, alongside longer planning cycles for cultural moments, campaigns and ‘always on’ output.
- Working with our internal creative team on high-fidelity organic and paid content, and shooting and producing lo-fi content.
- Working with external partners, agencies and creators where appropriate to the brief.
- Running experiments and placing considered bets on return on investment/time, then pulling back low-performing content and activities.
- Leveraging influencers and creators to support with content creation, relevance and reach.
- Building out an influencer strategy and developing an active community of creators and brand ambassadors.
- Ensuring our people (especially Partners and employees) have a strong voice, contributing to the success of our platforms and amplifying our brand.
- Manage and grow our in-house Partner social creators, and provide training tools and expert social media guidance to our wider community of Partners.
- Building healthy online communities and making sure our social communities are engaged and well-managed, supporting our customer services team with training requirements and proactive engagement opportunities.
- Observing unofficial social communities as part of our wider sentiment monitoring, and engaging where appropriate to protect our brand reputation.
