Role Overview

We are seeking inspiring and committed MFL teachers to join schools across the UK from September 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to teach French or/and Spanish to pupils at KS3–KS5, depending on the school. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality, engaging lessons that foster a love of languages and support strong academic progress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Teach French, Spanish and/or German to students aged 11–18 (KS3–KS5), depending on school needs.
  • Assess, track, and report on student progress effectively.
  • Create a positive, inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities, trips, or language clubs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum development and student outcomes.
  • Uphold high standards of teaching, behaviour, and safeguarding in line with school policies.

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Relevant degree in languages or related field
  • Recent classroom teaching experience (including placements if ECT)
  • Strong subject knowledge and ability to teach at least one MFL to KS4
  • Passion for language teaching and cultural education
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Commitment to professional development and reflective practice

Desirable:

  • Ability to teach MFL at A-level
  • Experience working in UK schools
  • Experience leading extracurricular language-based activities
  • Willingness to contribute to school life beyond the classroom
