A Tier 1 Main Contractor with an excellent reputation in the local market and project portfolio across the Mixed-Use, Residential, Education and Science sectors are recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join their long standing commercial team, working as part of a team managing packages up to c£15m on a large flagship new build project in Cambridgeshire or running your own projects to c£10m.
The company has an excellent staff retention rate, with numerous examples of surveyors who have joined their team at QS level progressing to SQS, Managing QS and further. With a clear structure and programme in place for their employees' personal development, this role is to work closely with a Managing QS that is very well thought of and would act as an excellent mentor.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- The successful candidate will take responsibility for assisting with and managing daily commercial management functions, including but not limited to; measurement & valuations, applications for payment, reconciling accounts, dealing with sub-contract orders and enquiries, through to practical completion of the project and settling final accounts - for specific packages on the project, working with the commercial team.
Desirable Experience:
- Minimum 5 years+ experience as a QS working for a Main Contractor.
- Good communication skills.
- Experience working in a team.
- BSc in Quantity Surveying or Comparable qualification.
Previous Roles:
- Assistant Quantity Surveyor OR Project QS OR Trainee Quantity Surveyor.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or comparable qualification.
