The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

Purpose of the Role: Responsibility for leading a team within a shift delivering against a range of safety, cost and quality KPIs. Supporting the delivery of operational strategy and will be responsible for successfully managing the delivery of site operations improvement plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Continuously improve quality system to eradicate repeat failures.
  • Continually develop our operations system to maximise performance.
  • Lead the operations team to continuously improve plant output and delivery of customer service plans.
  • Delivery of financial budget aligned with the delivery of KPIs in line with assigned business unit objectives (waste, TOS, efficiency, machine uptime).
  • Work in partnership with site functions, engineering to deliver daily, weekly, monthly, and annual targets.
  • Support the creation of a positive working culture through clear and consistent leadership.
  • Support and develop your team - recognise and reward performance through regular performance reviews.
  • Motivate and coach your shift team in effective decision making, promoting autonomy/accountability, and promoting ownership to enhance engagement at all levels.
  • Adhere to and deliver the site labour standard, managing overtime figures in line with budget.
  • Ensure our people are trained to run the lines efficiently and to legal requirements.
  • Keep our people safe, ensure risk assessments, safety inspections and accident investigations are completed to the correct standard and timescales.
  • Manage absence to deliver budget.
  • Resolve any time & attendance or payroll queries.

Main Ingredients for the Role:

  • Previous experience working as a leader or manager within a Shift Operations function within FMCG, with an understanding of manufacturing excellence.
  • Desirable IOSH, with a strong, demonstrable appreciation of H&S.
  • Ideally you will have a Food Safety / Hygiene Qualification, but this is not essential as happy to consider candidates from outside of the food / drink sector with the relevant manufacturing management experience.
  • Ideally candidates will have a manufacturing excellence qualification or be Lean Sigma Green Belt certified, etc., and will possess a strong willingness to develop their knowledge and experience in this aspect.

The role is working a 3 shift operation.
