Jones Bros Civil Engineering is seeking a Site Agent to join our growing team in Scotland. Reporting to the Project and Contract Managers, you'll play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of our infrastructure projects overseeing daily site operations, maintaining compliance, and driving high standards across safety, quality, and performance.

You'll be expected to travel regularly across Scotland, with overnight stays required on occasions depending on the project location. Flexibility and a willingness to be where the work is happening are essential. In return, you'll play a leading role in high-impact civil engineering schemes and gain exposure to varied and rewarding challenges.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead on-site civil engineering operations from mobilisation to completion.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures on quality, health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Prepare and implement HSEQ documentation, including construction phase plans and RAMS.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and ensure accurate and timely delivery of works.
  • Oversee procurement and performance of suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, costs, and programme performance.
  • Provide daily guidance and support to site engineers and operational teams.
  • Collaborate with Works Managers and Foremen to ensure smooth, productive site operations.
  • Maintain effective client and stakeholder relationships and resolve contractual issues as required.
  • Mentor junior engineers and operatives, supporting professional development across the team.
  • Ensure timely and complete handover documentation for project completion.

What We're Looking For

  • Degree or HND in Civil Engineering.
  • Proven experience in a Site Agent role within civil engineering, preferably with large-scale earthworks or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC or FIDIC Design & Build contracts.
  • Excellent understanding of health, safety, and environmental legislation.
  • Commercially aware with the ability to monitor budgets, forecasts, and subcontractor performance.
  • Confident communicator and team leader with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with digital site management tools.
  • Able to travel and work across Scotland, with overnight stays when required.
  • Full UK driving licence.
