Steelworker

Morson are looking to recruit Platers on behalf of our client based in Barrow in Furness. These contracts are initially 12 months with a strong likelihood of extension.

Successful candidates must be time served and able to provide trade papers on application, ideally with previous experience with shipbuilding/marine/heavy industry.

What you will be doing:

• Fabricate, Assemble and/or install parts of a ship
• Marking off materials
• Assembling of ships structures (Shell, Decks, Bulkheads, Frames and Longditudinals)
• Outfitting Ships items such as Seats, Ladders, False flooring & Panels
• Forming Materials using machinery such as Rolling, Flanging & Cutting Machines (Guillotine, Cropper & Mechanical Saw)
• Prepping a ship for launch & ship sea trails, manufacture of launch slipway, shores, batons etc

Shifts can vary. Predominant shift patterns 3 on 4 off and nights:

• 3 on 4 off - Locals: £23.28 PAYE Non locals: £31.28 PAYE (Umbrella rates also available)
• Nights - Locals: £25.80 PAYE Non locals: £33.80 PAYE (Umbrella rates also available)

Full rate card available on request. Successful candidates will be required to gain Security clearance and pass a trade test before eligible to start on site.
