We have a current opportunity for a Drug and Alcohol Practitioner on a temporary basis. The position will be based in Northampton.

Location: Northampton

Hourly Rate: £16 - £18 PAYE or £19 - £21 UMBRELLA

Hours: 37 Monday - Friday

Type: Temporary / Temp - Perm

Key Requirements:

  • Have experience of working with at risk/vulnerable young people in a community setting
  • Be able to deliver behaviour change support, including group work
  • Be knowledgeable about safeguarding children, confidentiality, consent and mental capacity, and Hidden Harm
  • Adopt a flexible approach to work - hours and locations

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hold a caseload of complex cases requiring a case co-ordination approach, completing all recording and case management administration accurately and promptly, adhering to GDPR and Data protection policies.
  • Support and build relationships with people and their families who have a variety of needs related to substance misuse.
  • Develop co-produced, outcome-focused support plans that reflect each participant's personal strengths and goals.
  • Co-ordinate interventions provided by other agencies to ensure the right support is offered at the right time.
  • Provide screening, co-produced assessment, psycho-social interventions, integrated and outcome-focused care planning, after-care support, and onward transition to other services as required.
  • Identify and respond effectively to safeguarding concerns, supporting and educating family members, making safeguarding referrals, and participating in relevant multi-agency meetings.
  • Support people from the point of entry into our service, through their intervention and after-care.

Person Specification:

  • Demonstrable experience of working within the Substance Misuse field.
  • Experience working with Young People.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the functional model of alcohol abuse.
  • Knowledge of primary, secondary and other outreach settings.
  • Clear Enhanced DBS.
