What You Will Do
- Responsible for the overall operational activities and day to day running of the business.
- Assist the Managing Director in setting the strategic direction of the business as agreed with AirBorn Interconnect Inc. USA and help in the implementation thereof.
- Assist the Managing Director in generating strategic company policies in support of the business strategy/plan and assisting other managers in the application of those policies.
- Provide support, mentoring and manage the management team at AirBorn International.
- Assist in the generation of the management monthly reports in support of the Managing Director.
- Review manufacturing performance and agree the monthly output against the budgeted sales forecast for the business.
- Assist the Managing Director with financial issues within the business including the setting of yearly budgets, monthly and quarterly forecasting.
- Develop proposals for capital expenditures and make budget recommendations for all responsible areas.
- Coordinate major equipment purchases, and plan and document facilities layout for optimal utilisation.
- Responsible for the company KPI reporting process and chairing the quarterly KPI review meetings.
- Liaise with and be the focal point for all the utilities supporting the business.
- Responsible for managing preventative maintenance and repairs in the facility.
- Assure the optimal functioning of all building systems and oversee outside contractors who perform repairs and provide services to the company.
- Carry out initial contract review using form A-026 regarding export control issues and confirming whether civil aircraft contract conditions apply.
- Organise and hold monthly/quarterly plant meetings and other plant/department meetings as and when required, to ensure that all personnel are aware of the business strategy, plans, performance, and other issues that require communicating to the employees of the business.
- Chair monthly Management meetings and Information & Communication Meeting (ICM) meetings.
- Be responsible for and the focal point regarding export control, ensuring that AirBorn International Ltd. are compliant with all current export controls regarding export of goods for military use/applications.
- Chair disciplinary hearings and appeals as and when needed.
- Contact point for the Intruder and Fire alarm suppliers/contractors.
- Be responsible for ensuring ALE team is proactive and costs savings are recorded and checked.
- Integration of cultural initiatives for the site which will include leading and maturing the Principled Based Management culture at the site.
Who You Are
- Educated to degree standard and preferably in an engineering or commercial discipline or have extensive experience as a senior manager within an aerospace engineering manufacturing organisation and formal training in general management.
- Have been involved in major programme budgeting activity.
- Be familiar with the requirements of EN 9100 accreditation and worked within such an accredited organisation.
- Have significant experience in working within the defence and civil aerospace markets and export control.
- Be a strong advocate of lean manufacturing and committed to an environment of continuous improvement.
- Have an adaptable and flexible style toward management particularly, as is required in a small business environment.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience leading diverse teams.
- Experience of working with global sites.
- Proven track record of success in executive leadership roles.
- Proficiency in data analysis and utilisation of insights for strategic decision making.
- Comprehensive understanding of health and safety regulations and risk management.
- Demonstrate ability to drive process organisation and implement best practice.
- Participate in company training as required.
