Overview
An established leadership advisory firm is seeking an Associate Director to join its growing Infrastructure & Transportation practice. This role sits one level above Consultant and is designed for a senior delivery-led professional who has begun to originate and win their own work, but is not yet operating as a full Partner.
The successful candidate will combine exceptional end-to-end delivery capability with a demonstrable track record of business development, contributing to both client outcomes and revenue growth.
Role Context
- Consultant\’s deliver assignments end-to-end, manage clients, oversee researchers, and support proposals, but do not lead new business generation.
- Associate Director\’s do all of the above and actively originate, shape, and close new client work.
This hire is expected to sit confidently at that bottom end of the Associate Director level.
Key Responsibilities
Client Delivery
- Lead executive search and leadership advisory assignments from brief to completion
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior clients across infrastructure and transportation sectors
- Manage assignment teams, including researchers and junior consultants
- Ensure high-quality delivery, stakeholder management, and commercial outcomes
Business Development
- Win and close new work, either independently or in collaboration with senior colleagues
- Build and maintain a personal client network within relevant sectors
- Contribute to proposals, pitches, and relationship development
- Demonstrate commercial judgement and ownership of revenue targets
- Background in Infrastructure or Transportation, including one or more of:
- Road
- Rail
- Maritime
- Supply chain
- Logistics
- Experience in executive search, leadership advisory, or a closely related consulting environment
- Proven track record as a top-tier delivery professional
- Evidence of winning at least some personal business (not purely delivery-only)
