Our Head Office based in Hertford is now recruiting for a full-time experienced Junior Finance Officer to join our bubbly team to support them with their finance administrative duties. The company is rapidly growing and expanding as we open more 24-hour supported living services around London and the surrounding areas.

Our ideal candidate will have at least 1 year’s work experience within a similar financial role. A minimum of Level 1 in accountancy and/or bookkeeping is required for this position, with the possibility of progressing to a higher level whilst working for NSSL Group Ltd after a successful 3-month probationary period.

To be considered for this position, you should have an understanding of Xero accountancy software, as this is the system we work from on a daily basis. You may be asked to demonstrate these skills in your interview. A successful candidate should be someone who is eager to learn but also possesses a great amount of knowledge in finance and working within a busy Head Office environment.

Due to the nature of the business and as we are a 24-hour supported living company, it is important you have a kind, caring and compassionate nature. You will be working closely with the Service Managers, Area Managers and Service Development Managers dealing with all financial enquiries throughout the company; you should therefore also have a good understanding of the GDPR guidelines as we handle sensitive information daily.

Although our office can be fun, we can get very busy and you will be expected to manage your own workload whilst multitasking by taking phone calls, responding to emails and dealing with the busy environment around you. You will be required to meet weekly and monthly deadlines, so prioritising your workload and keeping Directors up to date with any issues or disputes is essential in this role.

Your roles and duties within this position may vary, but the below is an outline of what would be expected of you:

  • Bookkeeping via Xero software
  • Process monthly payrolls using BrightPay for 4 companies
  • Process HMRC and Nest payments
  • Invoicing councils for care fees
  • Intercompany invoicing between sister companies
  • Keeping track of payments coming in and going out (process remittances and update Monday Board and Client Index)
  • Chasing outstanding payments
  • Keeping all paperwork, files and computer organised
  • Carry out tasks asked by the Finance Manager/Director
  • Support Site managers with HB and DHP applications

The above criteria underpins your role as a Junior Finance Officer; however, it does not determine the entire role. A Junior Finance Administrator needs to be flexible to meet the demands of a growing company.

As every company is different, we will provide you with training for this position so you have an understanding of each company, how it runs and what would be expected of you every day. However, it is important that you are able to demonstrate that you have had experience in working within a similar position dealing with enquiries and finance duties.

Benefits include:

  • Company Pension with NEST
  • 28 days annual leave entitlement (including bank holidays + birthday off)
  • Company wellbeing programme with Bupa for telephone counselling and online support
  • Fun company events & days out
  • Casual dress
  • Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm

Here at NSSL Group, we aim to be a warm, welcoming and inclusive employer, where all colleagues feel they belong.
