A leading global organization is seeking an AS400 Systems Developer to join its growing IT team. This company is heavily invested in technology, ensuring its systems and infrastructure support business-critical operations. As part of this team, you will work with AS400-based applications and contribute to maintaining and developing enterprise solutions to improve business processes and efficiency.
We are seeking an AS400 Systems Developer to maintain, support, and enhance business-critical applications running on the IBM AS400 (iSeries) platform. The role involves working closely with internal stakeholders to develop and customize AS400-based ERP, SCM, and finance-related systems, ensuring smooth operations and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, maintain, and support applications on the IBM AS400/iSeries platform.
- Enhance and customize ERP, SCM, and finance applications to improve business functionality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve AS400 system issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Work with RPG (RPGLE), CL, and SQL to develop and maintain AS400 applications.
- Manage integration projects between AS400 and modern platforms (e.g., web services, APIs).
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for users, ensuring smooth system performance.
- Implement and maintain data security and backup strategies for AS400 systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement system improvements.
- Document development processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps for knowledge sharing.
- 2+ years of experience developing and maintaining AS400 (iSeries) applications or something similar.
- Strong proficiency in RPG, RPGLE, CL, and SQL.
- Experience supporting and customizing ERP, Supply Chain Management, or Finance systems on AS400.
- Familiarity with AS400 system administration, including backups, security, and performance tuning.
- Experience troubleshooting system issues and implementing solutions with minimal disruption.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with business stakeholders to deliver technical solutions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Experience integrating AS400 systems with modern applications via APIs, web services, or middleware.
- Background in manufacturing or pharmaceutical environments where AS400 is utilized.
- Understanding of data migration and modernization strategies for legacy systems.
- ITIL certification or experience working within an IT service management framework.
