W&A are delighted to be supporting a global business to source a Group Financial Accountant. The role is based in Edinburgh and offers hybrid working, a competitive salary, plus a discretionary annual bonus and benefits.

With operations in multiple jurisdictions, the group is investing heavily in its financial infrastructure to support growth and ensure strong governance. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a commercially focused finance function, offering significant exposure to consolidation, audit, tax, and systems-related projects in a truly international environment.
The Group Financial Accountant will play a key role in supporting group consolidation activities, maintaining financial control within the ERP system, and delivering high-quality reporting for group leadership. The successful candidate will work closely with the Group Finance Manager, contributing to the accuracy and efficiency of month-end reporting and supporting year-end compliance deliverables, including audit and tax.
Key Responsibilities:- Support the preparation and consolidation of monthly financial results across multiple European entities.
- Review and prepare journal entries and ensure correct invoice allocations and ledger accuracy.
- Perform and develop robust balance sheet reconciliations to enhance financial integrity.
- Assist in producing monthly group reporting packs, including insightful commentary on financial variances.
- Engage in the year-end audit process, including the drafting of financial statements and audit documentation.
- Liaise with external tax advisors to assist in the preparation and submission of corporate tax returns.
- Contribute to the preparation of VAT returns and compliance reporting.
- Work within the ERP system to ensure data accuracy and support system improvements.
- Act as a key contributor to ongoing finance transformation projects and process automation.
- Build effective working relationships across the finance function to ensure knowledge sharing and reduce key-person dependency.
- Recently qualified accountant (CA/ACA/ACCA), ideally with exposure to group finance or international reporting environments.
- Experience working in a multi-entity structure, preferably with a European focus.
- High attention to detail, with strong analytical and reconciliation skills.
- Confident communicator with a collaborative, proactive approach to problem solving.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as NetSuite is highly desirable.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-moving, evolving organisation.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver on deadlines and support continuous improvement.
- Strong Excel skills, with working knowledge of PowerPoint and Word.
