The predicted salary is between 24000 - 36000 £ per year.
Salary will be pro-rated for part-time and term-time hours.
Nurture, family learning and supporting and engaging families continues to be a key priority for the Council. The Family Learning Assistant will work as part of a school locality. The successful candidate will support schools to deliver key nurture and family learning projects that can bring families into the school community and aim to support parents to engage in their child’s learning.
The role will involve raising awareness of support and services available within schools and the local community, as well as becoming a supportive point of contact for children, parents and carers.
Candidates must have a strong knowledge of child development including attachment theory, nurture principles and play approaches and have proven experience of working with multi-agency partners. Candidates should be enthusiastic and articulate with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and have an understanding of the importance of confidentiality.

Where the post you are applying for is considered a Regulated Role under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020, successful candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check, prior to confirmation of employment being made by East Dunbartonshire Council.
Please note, successful candidates will be expected to meet the cost of the relevant check which will be deducted from the successful candidate’s first salary payment. In specific circumstances the payment could be deducted in instalments from an employee’s wages following commencement of employment. Approval in such circumstances will be made by the HR & OD Manager. Should an employee leave in advance of the payment being deducted, the full amount will be deducted from the employee’s final salary.
