Avondale Foods is a leading food manufacturing company of Fresh and Chilled products supplying leading retail businesses including Marks & Spencer, Waitrose, Dunnes, Morrisons, Aldi & Lidl throughout the UK & Ireland.
Responsible SME (Subject Matter Expert) to ensure compliance of the metal detectors, check-weighers and Automated Date Coding System (Auto-coding). The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills and the flexibility to accommodate occasional out of hours requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Manage compliance to customer codes of practice, BRC and legislation regarding weight compliance, metal detection compliance and Automated Date Coding System (Auto-coding).
- Complete daily tasks for weight, metal & auto-coding compliance.
- Complete daily/weekly/monthly process reports.
- Oversee completion of protocols for new product launches.
- Communicate accurately with management, suppliers and customers in verbal and written formats.
- Complete investigations and preventative corrective actions.
- Calibrate metal detectors, checkweighers, scales and auto-coding.
- Lead customer visits and audits with regards to metal detection and check weighing.
- Manage training within the production team to ensure compliance (mentor & coach).
- Contribute to the development of a culture of Integrity, collaboration do the right thing approach in all interactions.
- Ensure Food Safety compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements to remain audit-ready at all times.
- HACCP Level 2
- Minimum 2 years experience within food manufacturing
- Food Safety Level 2
- Knowledge of metal detection and check weighing equipment
- Qualification in Internal Auditing Level 2
- Experience of working to deadlines
- Ability to engage and communicate with staff at all levels within the business
- HACCP Level 3
- Degree in Food Science or related subject
- Food Safety Level 3
- Knowledge of auto-coding
