JOB PURPOSE

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our site which is home of iconic brands, such as Marmite, Colman's, Bovril and Hellmann's and become part of an enthusiastic and brand-driven team in the Burton-on-Trent Unilever factory. Your role will be to ensure the wastewater treatment system is operating at optimum speed and efficiency, assuring environmental requirements, following procedures to operate and maintain the system, and bring improvement ideas.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Safety - Ensure all work carried out is in adherence to the company safety policy and legal compliance within Site Services is maintained with statutory inspections completed on time and remedial works completed and recorded.
  • Environment - Ensure that legal compliance within wastewater treatment plan is maintained with statutory inspections completed on time and remedial works completed and recorded.
  • Quality - Ensure that all SOP for operation and maintenance of the system is undertaken in accordance with schedules (daily, weekly, monthly, and annually), working safely, keeping the area in the right standard and keeping the paperwork up to date.
  • Improvement - Actively identify and deliver improvement opportunities, to drive a cost-effective operation and maintenance of site utilities and facilities, improving our Safety, Health, and Environment metrics.
  • Communication - Communicate problems, solutions, and options clearly and succinctly to relevant people within the factory.
  • Flexibility - Flexible and proactive supporting the team when priorities demand.
  • Spotting and finding any faults in the mechanical and pneumatic machinery and getting to the root cause of a problem quickly.
  • Assisting in the identification of the critical control points on the machine modules, ensuring that they are able to be inspected according to the correct procedures.
  • Working on high tolerance machinery, improving the performance of it by developing maintenance tasks.
  • Developing any training and experience you already have in World Class Manufacturing tools and techniques.
  • Performing risk assessments as appropriate.

Essential

  • You will have had previous experience working in wastewater treatment systems, both in the operation and basic maintenance.
  • Ability to communicate with colleagues at all levels of the factory team.
  • Demonstrated high performance within current role.
  • Have a can-do attitude.
  • Enthusiasm to operate in a role that evolves and changes with technology.
  • Experience in using World Class Manufacturing tools and techniques, such as Kaizen and 5W1H.
