Service Care Solution are currently recruiting for an Education Welfare Officer in Enfield. The Education Welfare Officer will provide practical guidance to schools on attendance policy and the law, advice and support to children and their parents/carers on promoting good attendance and punctuality. This role is Term time only.

Pay rate – £16.77 PAYE / £20.74 Umbrella per hour

Main Responsibilities

  • Monitor school attendance and follow up with appropriate actions for persistent absenteeism.
  • Conduct home visits as required, working closely with families to address issues affecting attendance.
  • Collaborate with schools, other agencies, and services to provide holistic support for vulnerable children and families.
  • Work independently to manage your caseload, prioritising tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Attend meetings and contribute to multi-agency support planning for vulnerable families.
  • Keep up to date with legislation and best practices regarding school attendance.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as an Educational Welfare Officer or School Attendance.
  • Enhanced DBS.
  • Ability to travel across the borough carrying out home visits where necessary, visiting schools, and attending meetings.
