Doncaster is looking for two Youth Workers to join their dynamic team at Bentley and Denaby Main, working from 4:00 PM to 8:30 PM. About the Role
As a Youth Worker, you will play an integral part in the lives of children and young people, delivering engaging sessions and activities. Your role will include facilitating social and personal education through creative, fun, and impactful youth sessions. You will help young people build their confidence, connect with important resources, and develop positive relationships. Flexibility in working hours is required, including evenings and occasional weekends.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the delivery of youth sessions and activities for children and young people across Doncaster.
- Build and maintain positive relationships, offering guidance and support.
- Encourage young people, including underrepresented groups, to have a voice in decision-making.
- Monitor and evaluate engagement, ensuring the success and impact of each session.
- Work collaboratively with local groups and partners to enhance services for young people.
- Complete necessary administrative tasks, including planning, attendance records, and risk assessments.
- Be responsible for securing the buildings after sessions.
Person Specification
Essential Requirements:
- Good general education level.
- Minimum Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject (e.g. Youth Work).
- Safeguarding Level 3 certificate.
- First Aid trained.
- Experience working face-to-face with children and young people, especially those with special education needs.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Ability to work independently and travel across Doncaster.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
Desirable:
- Experience in planning engaging and effective activities for young people.
- Familiarity with session evaluations and continuous improvement processes.
