Technical Adhesives Expert – Manufacturing/Customer Support

We are seeking a Technical Adhesives Expert to provide specialised support and troubleshooting to customer processes and product applications . The ideal candidate will excel at troubleshooting adhesive applications directly on customer production lines, optimising manufacturing processes, and implementing effective bonding solutions in industrial settings.

The candidate will ideally be based around the Midlands area, though other locations can also be considered (with frequent travel to various customer sites).

Key Responsibilities

On-Site Manufacturing Support

• Visit customer manufacturing facilities to diagnose and resolve adhesive-related production issues
• Conduct on-site assessments of production lines to identify improvement opportunities
• Provide hands-on technical support during implementation of new adhesive systems
• Troubleshoot bonding failures in real-time production environments

Process Optimisation

• Analyse manufacturing processes to improve adhesive application efficiency
• Recommend equipment modifications or process adjustments to enhance production quality
• Support customers during production ramp-up and new product introductions
• Develop solutions that reduce waste and increase manufacturing throughput

Technical Consultation

• Advise manufacturing teams on adhesive selection for specific production requirements
• Provide guidance on surface preparation, application methods, and curing processes
• Help manufacturing clients meet industry standards and quality requirements
• Support production trials of new adhesive technologies

Training & Implementation

• Deliver on-site training for manufacturing personnel on proper adhesive handling techniques
• Create documentation specific to manufacturing applications and equipment
• Provide technical support during production line changeovers and maintenance

Requirements

• Experience with adhesives in manufacturing/production environments
• Understanding of industrial assembly processes and manufacturing equipment
• Knowledge of adhesive application systems used in production settings
• Ability to troubleshoot issues in active manufacturing environments
• Strong problem-solving skills in high-pressure production situations
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Willingness to travel frequently to manufacturing sites, sometimes on short notice
