Accounts Assistant
Search Consultancy is working with a well-established Manufacturing company who are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join their finance team in Manchester. They will be joining an industry leader offering a wide range of products to its wide customer base all while keeping sustainability at the forefront of its practices. They will play a key supporting role within the Finance Department, assisting the Finance Manager in maintaining a high-performing and efficient finance operation.
The Accounts Assistants primary responsibility will be to assist with the preparation and processing of monthly payroll, as well as managing both the sales and purchase ledgers. They will be responsible for accurately entering daily cash receipts in GBP, Euro, and USD into their systems, ensuring that payments are correctly allocated to the relevant sales invoices.
Additionally, they will help monitor the Debtors Ledger, proactively chasing overdue payments on a bi-weekly basis, and ensuring adherence to agreed credit terms. Managing the daily entry of supplier payments in multiple currencies, as well as maintaining supplier accounts, reconciling supplier statements, and preparing information for payment runs in line with payment terms. Also, assisting with matching purchase invoices to goods received notes, maintain the bank card supplier accounts, and file purchase invoices.
This role also includes managing various office purchases, including stationery, office equipment, and branded items for employees, while liaising with suppliers to ensure timely orders, competitive pricing, and delivery schedules.
The Accounts Assistant will also support the payroll process by collating weekly hours for operators, maintaining records for holiday and sickness, and issuing new employee fobs. On top of these responsibilities, they will post nominal ledger payments, perform monthly bank reconciliations for multiple currencies, and assist with general administrative tasks, such as opening daily post and filing HR documents. The role may also involve providing support during year-end procedures and covering for colleagues in other areas of the business, when necessary.

Salary: Up to 27,000 depending on experience
Hours: Monday – Thursday 8:00 – 5:00 and Friday 8:00 – 1:30
