We now have exciting permanent opportunities for motivated and suitably qualified Project Support Officers to join our Technical Communities based in the South West of England. The Role
This is a Project Support Officer position, working in a transverse role supporting several project managers to support delivery of the HPC Project engineering contract, in accordance with contract terms and conditions and in line with the overall Project schedule.
Key Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities
- The primary responsibility of the role of the Project Support Officer is to support the Responsible Designer (RD) Contract Project Managers to successfully manage the RD Contract and ensure that the engineering is delivered safely to cost, schedule and quality, and in line with the terms and conditions of the Contract.
- Other responsibilities of the PSO include:
- To develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, co-ordinating their input to achieve project objectives.
- Assist the delivery of the contract and associated activities to enable them to be achieved safely, on time, to budget, meeting business & technical requirements.
- Monitor and manage the client governance processes - track progress against milestones, deadlines, budget.
- Coordination and recording meetings, production of project documentation, producing reports and providing supporting guidance.
- Anticipate, manage and resolve issues within the contract, effectively use escalation routes when necessary.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience in Project Management or Project Engineering on large or complex engineering or construction projects is desirable.
- Knowledge of and experience in working with NEC contracts.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Coordination skills and leadership.
- Decision making and escalation ability for resolution of issues.
- Budget and commercial awareness.
- Ability to learn quickly and demonstrate evidence of using a ‘problem-solving’ approach.
- Ability to build strong working relationships with and effectively manage internal and external stakeholders.
- Due to the nature of the work, role holders will be required to undergo a Basic Security clearance (BPSS) and hold Independent Right to Work in The UK.
