We sit uniquely as the only single sited forge with open-die radial, press, hammer & ring rolling AND closed-die extrusion, drop stamp and blade forging in the world. Over the last few years we have invested in the business and have successfully doubled our turnover. We are looking to continue this growth and are looking to grow our established team.
Due to this continued investment and growth, we are looking to add to our Technical team and are looking for an experienced NDT Technician with a strong background in Ultrasonic testing. This is a regular days position working 37 hours per week with overtime available plus a strong package.
Main Purpose of the RoleReporting to the NDT Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of ultrasonic inspection of machined forgings and wrought products, marking identity numbers and packing goods for despatch when required. You should have a strong background in NDT, ideally with experience of working on Aerospace, Nuclear, Defence or other safety critical parts.
A typical day may include:- Hands-on Ultrasonic inspection.
- Hands-on visual inspection and dimensional inspection.
- Generation of Inspection certification and part specific technique sheets.
- Packing of goods for despatch, and marking of products prior to despatch, if required.
- Positive Material Identification (PMI).
Essential: NAS 410 / EN 4179 Level 2 Ultrasonic Qualification.
Desirable: PCN (EN 9712) Level 2 Ultrasonic Qualification (Forgings & Wrought Products). Experience/qualifications in Immersion Ultrasonic. Forklift Truck License, overhead crane experience. NAS 410 / EN 4179 documented on-the-job experience.
