A newly created opportunity for a Head of Licensing to build the brand licensing business within a global entertainment IP owner, leading the development of consumer products for a portfolio of hugely successful IP.

Joining a dynamic commercial department responsible for planning, licensing, and overseeing the quality of products and experiences across Theatrical and Live, Immersive and Themed Entertainment, Consumer Products, and Merchandise in line with the company’s franchise strategy.

The Head of Licensing will report directly to the CCO and be responsible for developing and implementing a long-term growth strategy for the consumer products business across the globe ensuring revenue targets are met and brand values adhered to.

The position will focus on the appointment and management of the global agent landscape as well as the set up and implementation of systems and processes to ensure the smooth running of the business. In addition, the Head of Licensing will be responsible for direct partner appointment and management where appropriate such as global/regional licensees, in-venue merchandise companies and halo collaborations.

So, what will you be doing?

  • Reporting to the CCO and developing CP strategy in line with the franchise strategy and core brand values.
  • Financial forecasting and long-range planning feeding into over-arching commercial budget.
  • Identifying, pitching, negotiating and appointing best in class licensing agents in each key market/region.
  • Ongoing management and support of licensing agents to drive business and financial targets.
  • Identifying, pitching, negotiating and nurturing direct licensees/partnerships where applicable including halo partners, global/regional licensees/retailers and in-venue merchandise companies.
  • Development of targeted presentations and sales materials to support pitch process (direct and via licensing agents).
  • Liaise with Senior Design Manager on the development of design kits, creative tool kits and style guides adapting to the nuances of each market, retail pitches, mood boards and trend boards.
  • Create product development and creative guidelines with the design team, and oversee product development and approval (via agents and direct where relevant).
  • Attendance of trade fairs and category specific shows.
