Facilities Electrical Technician

Here at GXO, we are currently recruiting for aFacilities Electrical Technicianto join our team in Barnsley. You’ll deliver a multi-skilled service performing a wide range of tasks to legislative, company, site and exacting standards. You’ll be covering a wide scope of duties including facilities maintenance, electrical installation, repairs, test/inspections, and support the on-site Dematic team across a range of disciplines.

This is a full time, permanent position, working any 5 out of 7 days, on rotating shifts 06:00 till 14:30, 08:00 till 16:30 and 10:30 till 19:00.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Undergo electrical installation, testing, distribution, fault finding and repairs to 2391 Standards
• Management of electrical documentation and change control
• Ensure all Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) on plant and buildings are carried out efficiently and effectively
• Oversee Contractors working onsite, ensuring Risk Assessments & Method Statements (RAMS) are in place and to issue work permits
• Ensure all tasks carried out adhere to all relevant compliances with current legislation, Policies & Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• Previous experience within facilities or maintenance is essential
• Industrial or Commercial Electrical Installation experience is required
• Electrical/ Mechanical Qualification Level 3 (or equivalent)
• Level 2 Diploma in Engineering, City & Guilds 18th Edition Wiring
• IOSH Managing Safely
