Contracts Analyst

A leading global physical oil provider, operating across international markets, are offering the opportunity for a Contracts Analyst with experience in physical oil contracts to join their legal team. Role Overview

As a Contracts Analyst, you will play a key role in managing trading agreements, contract negotiations, and legal documentation for physical oil transactions. You will collaborate closely with commercial teams, legal advisors, and counterparties to ensure contracts are executed efficiently, mitigate risks, and maintain regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and manage contracts for physical oil transactions, including spot and term agreements.
• Ensure contracts reflect commercial terms, industry regulations, and corporate policies.
• Work cross-functionally with traders, operations, legal, and finance to resolve contract-related issues.
• Identify and mitigate contractual risks while ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Support negotiations by providing contractual insights and structuring agreements to maximize commercial value.
• Maintain accurate contract records and oversee amendments, assignments, and novations.
• Collaborate with operations teams to ensure contract execution aligns with logistical requirements.
• Stay informed on industry developments, regulatory changes, and best practices affecting contractual frameworks.

Requirements

• Experience working with contracts in the physical oil trading sector.
• Strong understanding of crude oil and refined products trading agreements, including GTCs, Incoterms, and trade finance principles.
• Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple contracts in a fast-paced environment.

This role is hybrid 3 in the London office with a salary range around £40-60k depending on experience. The wider package includes bonus, pension, life cover and more.
