Join our client's elite Flying Squad, working globally to commission, maintain, and repair critical hydraulic equipment across the oil and gas industry. The Role
- Commission, maintain, inspect, and service hydraulic systems on cranes and lifting equipment both onshore and occasionally offshore or overseas.
- Diagnose faults and perform repairs on hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical components.
- Support commissioning and troubleshooting on a range of hydro-mechanical systems.
- Assist with the identification and procurement of spare parts.
- Produce accurate and detailed job reports.
- Plan and oversee rigging and lifting operations.
- Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) standards.
- Work closely with site personnel to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
- Mitigate environmental risks through correct offshore working practices.
- Travel internationally to support other teams and attend training when required.
Skills & Competencies
- Time-served apprenticeship in Hydraulic, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience in the crane or heavy lifting sector; knowledge of brands like Liebherr or Gottwald is a plus.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting hydraulic schematics and engineering drawings.
- Proven skills in fault-finding, commissioning, and preventative maintenance of hydraulic systems.
- Familiarity with load monitoring systems such as MIPEG or PAT.
- Strong IT and report writing skills.
- Valid UK/Ireland driving licence.
- BOSIET and MIST certifications (essential).
- Comfortable working at height and in offshore or remote environments.
