What will you be doing in this role?

Ensure income is maximised by adopting a recovery focused approach alongside a commitment to providing our customers with support and an excellent customer service. We are looking for an enthusiastic and target driven individual to join our busy Income Management Team. The primary focus of this role will be to recover monies owed to Community Gateway, whilst doing everything possible to ensure our customers are not financially excluded.

It is not necessary to have experience of rent collection, as full training will be given; however applicants will need to evidence the ability to influence internal and external customers, have excellent interpersonal and team working skills, and will have previously worked in a target driven environment.

What we are looking for:

  • You will be able to manage a portfolio of rent accounts, ensuring a proactive approach is adopted to reduce arrears.
  • You can communicate with customers face to face, by phone and in writing offering support and making arrangements for the repayment of debts owed to the Association.
  • You can offer advice and assistance about rent related benefits as well as signposting customers to support with income maximisation and other support.
  • You will also have experience of working in a customer focused, performance driven environment.

It would be a bonus if you also had:

  • Experience of working within the social housing sector.
  • Experience of working with diverse groups including those who are vulnerable and financially excluded.
  • In depth knowledge of Housing Benefit, Universal Credit legislation.

Working arrangements:

This role is based at our gorgeous dockside offices in Preston with occasional evening and weekend work being a requirement of this post. We offer flexibility wherever possible to accommodate our business and your personal needs. You must hold a current driving licence and have use of a vehicle insured for business purposes.
